Steve Fehér - Bike Chain Sculpture and Molten Forms

Bicycle chain and copper sculptures by Steve Fehér a licensed psychologist who retired in 2010 and has since been creating sculptural art forms out of metal. As an avid bicyclist, he primarily uses recycled bicycle chains. There is an ample supply of bike chains, since when they are changed, the old ones are sent to landfills. The challenge was to recreate the human anatomy out of hard metal and transform it into fluid, gestural figures. Steve created 200 pound molds to be able to support the figures as he assembles and welds the chains together.

Awards:

Steve has received awards from the Regional and National Veterans Creative Arts Festivals in 2015 for his bike chain figures and molten copper figures

1st place in Sculpture Division of the 2016 Fine Arts Exhibition at the State Fair in NM.
